http://www.jenmann.com/#!info/c161y Jen Mann sees the awkward and uncomfortable moments that others may try to avoid or ignore as magical, and she focuses her art around these moments. While people try to cover up their flaws, she sees them as things that make us beautiful people. She believes there is something that is lost in our society as we only look at manicured facades. She likes to bring back these human moments in her art, as she focuses her work on human identity and how we present ourselves. She represents a lost reality. She believes that people always look for something magical, something that will bring them out of the everyday, but she is trying to look at the magic within everyday. I think her work is really strong in capturing expression. When looking at her art, I think about what these people are thinking, and what is going through their brains at that moment. | |
