I'm so happy I got a chance to see the Rodin show at the VMFA over Christmas break! I love his sculptures so much. I love that they're not all completely perfected; they seem so natural and expressive. I also think it's really neat that he was the first one to start using plaster for his final pieces. Other artists used plaster, but just during the process of their sculpture-making, never in the finished work. I also love his use of fragmentation. He would focus in on one part of the human body, such as the torso or the face or a hand. I really enjoyed this show!
